FTC Robotics is a mid to high-level robotics competition where teams of students design, build, and program robots to complete a unique annual challenge. Teams compete in alliances, scoring points in both autonomous and driver-controlled periods. Judging encompasses robot performance, a detailed engineering notebook, team outreach, and demonstration of "Gracious Professionalism." Beyond technical skills, FTC fosters teamwork, problem-solving, and project management. The competition provides a pathway from local events to a prestigious World Championship, emphasizing both engineering excellence and well-rounded personal development.
High school band provides students with the opportunity to learn and perform music in a collaborative ensemble setting. Students develop instrumental skills through practice and instruction, learning to read music and master their chosen instrument. Bands often perform in various settings, including marching band performances at football games, concert band performances, and sometimes even jazz band or smaller ensembles. Participation fosters discipline, teamwork, and artistic expression, as students work together to create music. Beyond the musical aspects, band often provides a strong sense of community and lasting friendships among its members.
